Varicose Vein Laser Removal

Varicose Vein Laser Removal What one Get Benefited form it?

Varicose vein laser removal is a healthcare treatment for the unsightly and often painful condition of varicose veins. Varicose veins are the blue or purplish enlarged veins you typically see bulging out of one’s leg. Varicose veins are caused when the valve of a deeper large vein begins to leak blood back into smaller veins near the surface of the leg. The smaller veins become stretched so much beyond their original size that healthcare problems such as itching, swelling, and leg pain occur. Varicose veins occur in the legs and lower extremities because standing and walking increases the pressure in the veins in the lower half of your body.

Varicose Vein Laser Removal, What it is?

Varicose vein laser removal is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure. Laser technology offers a very effective means of treating spider veins. The laser beam can deliver energy to a large area with each pulse, so laser vein removal takes just a few minutes to treat each discolored vein. The healthcare surgeon uses a local anesthetic to numb an area near the knee. Guided by ultrasound, the surgeon uses a needle to insert a wire through the incision into the main problematic vein. The wire guides the placement of a catheter and small laser through the entire vein. The surgeon activates the laser and pulls it back out of the vein. The laser collapses the vein walls, which effectively stops the blood from leaking back into the smaller leg veins. Blood flowing to the collapsed vein naturally reroutes itself to other healthier veins.

Varicose Vein Laser Removal, What time Taken to Recover from it.?

After completion of varicose vein laser removal, patients can leave the healthcare office after a short observation time of up to six hours. Treatments are quick and relatively pain-free. Using a Yag laser, hemoglobin in the damaged veins and capillaries is targeted, and the vein is thermally "heated" with short pulse light. One to two sessions are usually required to resolve all traces of these unsightly veins. The incision is bandaged and the patient will wear a compression wrap over the treated area for a week. Patients can perform normal (but not strenuous) activity upon returning home and should experience relief from symptoms immediately.
